Hello blog, how are you today? Me? Oh I'm just dandy, thanks for asking!
Anyway.
Left4Dead 2 was released this morning, this meant that it was quite hard to tear myself away from my room and make it in to class on time, but by gum I did it anyway! As for the game itself, it feels sluggish and...I don't know...bad. Compared to the original at least. But oh well. Enough about games, this is not a game review page. This is an Internet Translation Station. That was a lie but I liked the rhyme. So, today I arrived in Networking Fundamentals and managed to get all of my assignment done. Left till the last day but it was quite easy once I sat down to it. Subnetting and router configuration. Setting up a virtual network. Fantastic stuff. Next up I must finish my Programming Assignment, likewise this won't be a problem once I can motivate myself to sit down and do the work for a while. Sometimes I can't decide whether it's easier to do this stuff at home or in college. In college I'm uncomfortable thanks to the fantastically cheap chairs and filthy computers but I've got nothing else to do so I work away. At home I have everything I could possibly need or want but the motivation just isn't there because I could always watch the new episode of Dexter or Heroes or the new V remake, which is actually pretty good.
^Gigantic wall of text^
I think I shall leave you now and shoot some more zombies in the face, as any real man enjoys doing.

Commitment To Your Teammates!
HURRAH! I have to make a game in Alice this weekend, great fun altogether. Ideas? None do I have other than a Turtle who punches stuff. APS class has been moved from 4-5 tomorrow to 4-5 today which doesn't really work for me so I'll be taking a hit to my attendance, oh no! Off to the city this afternoon for my bi-weekly (not including weeknds ;D) visit with Tara for a while. Nothing's getting in my way, come rain or hail or sleet or slow buses. Networking lab next, time to do that assignment that's so important! Oh subnet calculations, how I love thee. For you are the east and I am some guy, and then Romeo was all like "Hey baby you want some 'o dis poison?", and she was all like "Aw hell naw." And that's pretty much Shakespeare in a nutshell. No sense as usual but nobody ever said I had to make any. I thinkg Super Turtle Fighter 3 - Turbo Edition will go down well once I'm done. Assignments out the wazoo this week, so that means enough of the blogging and back to work. TRALALALALALALA

The Number 5 Bus
Woe Betide all ye who wait for it.
1 Hour late today, had to stand in the cold on Patrick's Street.
Yes, I could have walked home in less than that time, but there's always that little voice on your shoulder going "Ah sure just wait another 5 minutes it'll be here then" and that, my friends, is the cause of hypothermia.
But anyway, 1 year anniversary with my fantastic girlfriend Tara, back to making her present.

A New Post!
It's been a while, being sick for nearly 3 weeks straight will get to you :\
OH WELL! Back into it with a vengeance, writing away at the moment doing a police report for the group project.
Takka takka takka takka takka takka takka!
In roughly 41 minutes time the Left4Dead 2 Demo goes live. Pity the internet here is so slow I won't be finished downloading it till midday tomorrow. But I suppose it's a good thing since the last thing I need right now is another game to play.
In other news, Halloween is rearing its ugly (no pun intended) head this weekend. Never before have I been invited to so many parties, let alone dress-up ones. Having a girlfriend can do wonders for your social life. Magic! Still no idea what I'm going to go as. If I can't think of something to go out as I may just go out looking damn good. Speaking of which, I definitely need to get a haircut tomorrow. The Joe-Fro is making a quick return, I honestly have no idea how my hair grows so fast. Perhaps it's trying to make me taller since my spine gave up on getting longer a few years ago. Oh well!
Back to project work now, and after that...the new episode of Heroes!
Till next week Mr. Blogomatic

Swine Flu
I've got it, or maybe it's just the regular Flu. Doctor couldn't tell because I don't have asthma or "some other underlying medical problem". Either way I won't be seen in CIT till Tuesday of next week. Now you know Paul, you can tell the whole family! And if you think I'm doing a punishment for the group project you've got another thing coming. Now I'm going back to bed.

Suddenly, a New Post!
What to write about? No idea really. I'm still getting over that 10 day flu I had, sniffles and sore throat and the like are lingering but oh well. Beside me I have a bag of Caramel Nibbles. Cadburys Buttons mixed with Cadburys Caramel Bars. I highly approve of them though eating more than one bag in an entire lifetime may lead to morbid obesity and a severe case of the fat to boot.
In other news, Halloween is fast approaching and as such I have put in motion the necessary actions for securing a costume with which to impress and amaze on the night itself. 10 Points for incredibly convoluted sentence. I win a pony and a lemon cake.
ANYWAY. Welding goggles, black rubber gloves, a long white lab coat and an evil looking goatee if Tara lets me get away with not shaving up till halloween. If not then I guess I'll just go as that overly large guy with the big voice who sometimes says funny stuff.
HUM
I've just been shouted at to go play some Street Fighter 3 with my good buddy in Romania so away I go via the magic of the Cisco Certified Internets (A series of tubes) to kick him in the face and be kicked in the face in turn.
STAY TUNED TILL NEXT WEEK!

Still with the Cold
Or is it the Flu?
That's what the Doc said anyway. You'd thing I'd be happy to be holed up in my room for a week with nothing to do but watch films and play games but it gets old fast. Very very fast. Thankfully I did manage to pick up a new book to read the day I was back home at the Doctor's. "Dragon Master" by Chris Bunch. Bought it after seeing it hiding on the bottom shelf in the Fantasy section in Waterstones. A random purchase but it turned out to be a good one. I have a thing for books that say "Omnibus Edition", I think it's to do with the fact that that translates to "Many books for little money" or something to that effect. Either way, the book starts out strong and if the quotes on the cover are anything to be believed, will keep it up throughout the entire three-book series. Which is fantastic since I finished my last book over a month ago and have been feeling like a pleb with nothing to read since. Anyway, now that I've satiated my need to talk to myself (and possibly you, Mr. Manning), I am off to bed again to read some more. Swish!

The Common Cold
Has struck me down, I was hoping it was swine flu but considering I've been feeling bad since Thursday and only really got hit and had to stay in bed yesterday I don't think this qualifies for the speed that Swine Flu is famous for. So there goes my really really good reason for not going to class today. However, I am heading back home to quiet little scumbag-filled Fungarvan with my sister later today so I can head to the Doctor there and get some nice Auntie Bioticals and a shiny note that says "Hey man, Joe is like, so totally sick so like, he couldn't go to class. Peace out Homes". Obviously the idea is to try and miss as few classes as possible, especially considering how fast certain lecturers move and how easy it is to fall behind in classes and become hopelessly lost. Thankfully they all use one or another form of online notes systems (Why they don't all use the same I'll never know, seriously guys whats up with that?) BUT I DIGRESS. I should really have incorporated paragraphs and whatnot into this post but as usual I just start typing and out this comes, sort of a stream of consciousness type dealie. Anyway, back to bed now because oh holy magoly I feel awful. Hopefully I'm well enough to go in tomorrow, or maybe even for my later classes today, who knows eh.

Cooking and Latvian Mail-Order Grandparents
Cooking! Cooking is pretty cool, as such I shall dedicate this blog post to cooking and all the wonderful things that come from cooking, such as food, more food, and washing up!
Until recently I was unaware of the joys of cooking, my culinary skills were limited to placing pre-made food stuffs in a warm box (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oven) which applied heat to them for a set period of time before letting me know that I would not die if I ate said food.
BUT HARK! A HERALD CALLS! He is calling my name, he says he rang twice and only got my machine so he's here now to deliver the message in person!
You can sometimes cook food that hasn't been through a processing plant! Amazing, I know!
This all started about 4 weeks ago, when I moved back to Cork for HIGHER LEARNING! After 10 months of a long-distance relationship with my mucho awesome girlfriend I was finally living in the city again and as such we did what any geographically challenged couple would do given the circumstances, WE MADE DINNER!
What did we make? You might ask, your voice a quiver with anticipation, excitement and dare I say, GENUINE INTEREST? (Capslock is my favourite.)
WELL!
2 large chicken fillets (from the English Market, I am so proud of my ability to go there for reasons other than shortcuts)
4 Cloves of Garlic
1 gigantic bread roll
Butter!
Garlic Chicken Stirfry (with bacon bits!) and Garlic Bread.
As if you hadn't guessed.
As usual, the fun is in the cooking of the food rather than the eating, though I have to say it was pretty damn tasty. Then again, I am a Van Helsing 5 times removed, so garlic is a favourite of mine.
Oh god I've started rambling. I was a ramblin' man. BUT NOT ANYMORE.
I have entirely lost my train of thought thanks to a certain friend of mine on Gtalk. However, I feel that this post more than qualifies for my mandatory weekly blogercise session and so I will call it quits. Put an end to it. Tell it to get the hell out of here, I know it has no money. Call the cops. File a restraining order. Maybe even change my name!
At least till next week, or the weekend, or whenever I feel like filling my screen with nonsense again!
PS - Learn to cook, it's fantastic.
PPS - Make sure you do the washing up afterwards or you are the worst flatmate EVER.
PPPS - STEAK THIS WEEKEND

Hello and Welcome
This is the internet and there is a lot of stuff on it.
And now for that Homework Assignment I was given.

2) Accounting
3) IT Support
4) Teamwork
Modules in Networking that could be beneficial :

This module would be helpful because the job description states that Troubleshooting PC and Network related problems would be part of the job.
2) Networking Fundamentals - http://courses.cit.ie/index.cfm/page/module/moduleId/461
This module would be beneficial as it teaches the basic usage and maintenance of a network and would give the applicant a good knowledge of troubleshooting over the Network
Modules in Accounting that could be beneficial :
1) Accounting & Computer Applications - http://courses.cit.ie/index.cfm/page/module/moduleId/1157
This module would be beneficial as it would give the applicant a firm grasp of accounting skills and familiarity with accounting software.
2) Accounting - http://courses.cit.ie/index.cfm/page/module/moduleId/837
This module does what it says on the tin, not to sound like a smartass. It would provide the applicant with the accounting skills necessary to function easily in an Accounting firm.

General accounting skills involving the use of spreadsheets etc to form reports on a firms financial status.

The Desktop Applications Support Module ( http://courses.cit.ie/index.cfm/page/module/moduleId/878 ) could also be beneficial due to the multiple mentions of software support in the job description.
These modules would be beneficial if not necessary for anyone applying for this job.
And just like that I'm done, at least I think I am, I guess I'll be told if I've done it wrong :(
